Late Rally by Piranhas Secures Win
|
Oakland got a terrific performance from pitcher Jeff Mahl, but it wasn't enough to beat the Panama City Piranhas. Panama City won the The Tank contest, 3-2. Mahl was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The Piranhas, now 5-0, have been playing some good baseball.
Arturo Scantlebury, who is rated as the 85th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Panama City with a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I like our moxie," said Piranhas manager Andrew Bosco.
