5 Straight Wins for Stingers
The Toledo Stingers went home winners at Pacesetter Park, thanks in large part to starter Melvin Tiburcio. Tiburcio silenced the Richardson City Thundercats, enabling Toledo to grab the 3-0 win. In 7.1 innings, Tiburcio surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. An Jang-Yop converted his 16th save in 22 tries.

The Stingers got a big at-bat from center fielder Eugene Clutch. For the game, Clutch was 1 for 4. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 66th hit of the season gave Toledo a 1-0 lead.

"It feels good to get this one," Tiburcio told the Toledo Gazette.
