BC Edge Evergreens, 6-5
|
Despite a great performance by Portland designated hitter John Ennis, the Philadelphia 1776 BC defeated the Evergreens by the score of 6-5 at Evergreen Park. Ennis was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Yoo-chul Mun picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 4 earned runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 2-2. Philadelphia 1776 is now 11-10.
Eddie Sachs was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk for Philadelphia 1776. The top prospect had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring single off Asher Spivey. It was his 25th hit of the season.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Sachs told the Philadelphia 1776 News.
