Sunday, July 9th, 2034
Carel van Putten put on a hitting clinic today as the Fort Knox Centennial dumped the Capital Hill Interns 15-6 at Alouettes Ballpark.
The Fort Knox left fielder made Capital Hill defenders earn their pay, lashing Capital Hill pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," van Putten said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Carel van Putten hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
