Deuces End Lloyd's Streak
Monday, August 7th, 2034
It was the best of both worlds for the Virginia Beach Deuces today at Field of the Rawhides, as they defeated the Belvedere Park Rawhides 2-1 and also snapped Pat Lloyd's 21-game hitting streak. The 26-year-old Belvedere Park first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Lloyd, we just wanted to win the game," said Deuces skipper John Anderson. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Lloyd frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Lloyd is hitting .364 this year with 3 home runs and 46 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .397, 18 walks and scored 44 times.
