Houghton and Pell Brawl, League Suspends Them Tuesday, August 1st, 2034 After an intense confrontation, both the Hops Bob Houghton and the BC Clyde Pell were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Yakima-San Antonio game. Both players will miss 6 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Bob Houghton commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Houghton is hitting .263 this year with no home runs and 30 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .328, 22 walks and scored 31 times. To this point in the season, Pell shows a 1-0 record, 0 starts, 34.2 innings, 27 strikeouts and a 5.19 ERA. |
