Red-Hot Guzmán Scorches Deuces Friday, July 21st, 2034 Rapiers right fielder Juan Guzmán had his way with Virginia Beach pitching today at Virginia Beach Grounds and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Deuces ruined his great day by toppling the Rapiers, 10-4. "I had a great day, but you've got to give Virginia Beach credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits." "Oh, we noticed what Guzmán did today," Deuces skipper John Anderson said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him." Juan Guzmán hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
