Hit Streak Now at 20 for Laurel Wednesday, September 6th, 2034 Arsenio Laurel, center fielder for the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 2 hits in his club's 8-0 victory today over the Jersey City Tritons at Crane Field today. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Arsenio Laurel grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Fabian Thul in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. This season Laurel is swinging the bat at a .307 rate with 47 hits in 153 at-bats. To date he has hit 5 home runs, scored 28 runs and driven in 29. |
