Jersey City No Match for Marés Wednesday, September 6th, 2034 Santa Barbara Golden Cranes fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as António Marés blanked the Jersey City Tritons, 8-0 at Crane Field today. Marés stopped them on 5 hits while walking 3 and striking out 6. "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Golden Cranes skipper Manuel Hernández said. "He was on top of his game in this one." So far this year Marés has made 17 starts, tossed 127.2 innings, struck out 109 batters and walked 50. His record is 10-8 with a 3.74 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .270 batting average.
