Fog End King's Streak Monday, June 5th, 2034 It was the best of both worlds for the Sunset District Fog today at Fog Park, as they defeated the Tortolita Drummers 8-0 and also snapped Colby King's 20-game hitting streak. The 27-year-old Tortolita shortstop failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against King, we just wanted to win the game," said Fog skipper Craig Walters. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, King frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." King is hitting .379 so far this season with 6 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 22 hits including 1 home run, 6 walks and .446 OBP. |
