Syracuse Snaps Reed's Streak at 22
Sunday, August 20th, 2034
For 22 straight games, Jeff Reed tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.

Well, the 23-year-old Yellowknife Dragonblood center fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Syracuse Storm. The Storm held him hitless in 3 at-bats at Storm Park today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 22.

There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Dragonblood took the win by the score of 5-3.

"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."

Reed is hitting .302 this year with 10 home runs and 53 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .336, 15 walks and scored 49 times.
