Caterpillars End Im's Streak Thursday, August 31st, 2034 It was the best of both worlds for the Grand Forks Caterpillars today at The Cocoon, as they defeated the Mt. Vernon Bulls 5-2 and also snapped Tong-sik Im's 21-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old Mt. Vernon shortstop failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Im, we just wanted to win the game," said Caterpillars skipper Steven Hodnett. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Im frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Im is hitting .333 so far this season with 22 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 29 hits including 6 home runs, 2 walks and .356 OBP. |
