Bortenschlager Hits in 20 Straight Games
Monday, July 3rd, 2034
The Hogsmeade Cauldrons may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 8-4 to the Columbia River Rats, but Max Bortenschlager continued to hit like a god.
The left fielder collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.
"Bortenschlager is playing great and is on fire right now," Cauldrons manager Donald Hutchinson said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
Bortenschlager was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Max Bortenschlager grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Larry Duille in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and singled in the 8th.
Bortenschlager is hitting .321 so far this season with 34 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 67 hits including 5 home runs, 12 walks and .357 OBP.
