López Baffles Northern Virginia Batters Wednesday, August 23rd, 2034 The Vancouver Grey Wolves did little to support starter Miguel López against the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Rainbow Mermaids, striking out 9 and surrendering 2 hits. The performance from López allowed Vancouver to escape with the 2-0 win despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said 'Miguel, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," López told BNN reporters following the win.
