D.C. Snaps van Munster's Streak at 28 Wednesday, August 9th, 2034 For 28 straight games, Urs van Munster tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy. Well, the 26-year-old Vancouver Grey Wolves left fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the D.C. Divided. The Divided held him hitless in 4 at-bats at Wolf Den in Vancouver today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 28. There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Grey Wolves took the win by the score of 9-7. "I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now." van Munster is hitting .333 so far this season with 38 RBIs and 57 runs scored. He has 99 hits including 9 home runs, 43 walks and .418 OBP. |
