Walk-Off Victory for BC Takes Record to 11-8
|
Philadelphia 1776 BC starter Jay Mahabir turned in a top-notch performance against the Vancouver Grey Wolves at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum. The result was a win for the BC, 3-1. Tony Solíz picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Ray Skipworth was tagged with the loss. The Grey Wolves fall to 9-10 and continue their wobbly start to the 2034 season.
Eddie Sachs was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia 1776. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the BC first baseman hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
Sachs expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
