Portland beat Toledo on the strength of starter Bob Mullinax's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 2-1 win. Portland reliever Keith Rojas was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Asher Spivey. Portland improves to 11-8 as they look to defend their championship.

One important at-bat came with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Toledo hurler Rafael Rodríguez, John Ennis, who is tied for 8th in the PL in triples with 1, hit a single. The Evergreens went on to win.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Ennis told the Portland Today.
