Almost There: Boston On Cusp of R2035 Triumph After 13-5 Win
|
Boston first baseman Jorge Alejándrez was the key at Dunkin Donuts Park today, being named player of the game as he powered the Patriots to victory in a critical Game of the Round 2035. The Patriots took the 13-5 win over the Portland Evergreens to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
Adrián Gómez swatted a grand slam home run for Boston in the bottom of the seventh. The designated hitter went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 6.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Gómez told reporters after the game.
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Dunkin Donuts Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Gabriel Valenzuela for the Portland Evergreens and Darby Marshall for the the Boston Patriots.
