Almost There: Charleston On Cusp of R2035 Triumph After 3-2 Win
The Charleston Battery are one game away from a sweep after a 3-2 win over the visiting Portland Evergreens at Charleston Armory today. Battery right-hander Miguel Angel Martínez was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Charleston now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2035.

Martínez delivered a quality start for Charleston. The 6' 1" right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 6.1 innings of work.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Martínez said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Charleston. Slated to start are Jorge Otero for Portland and Carlos Medina for Charleston.
