Grasshoppers Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
The San Bernardino Grasshoppers moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Irving Blue Sox at Field of the Grasshoppers by a score of 14-4. Grasshoppers designated hitter Andy Alderliesten was named player of the game after he was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. The win gives the Grasshoppers a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 SL AA Championship.

Wren Driscoll hit a 2-run triple off Bob Bolen in the bottom of the first, which put the Grasshoppers in front, 2-0. Driscoll had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Driscoll said after the game.

The next game is scheduled for Monday at Blue Sox Ballpark. Slated to start are Daniel Edwards for San Bernardino and Zach Pinyerrel for Irving.
