Piñeiro Handcuffs Rocks, Targaryens Seize 2-0 Advantage in R1
The Royse City Targaryens got an exceptional performance from starter Eugenio Piñeiro, who silenced the Plymouth offense en route to a 5-0 shutout win in Game 2 of the SL AAA Championship today. The Rocks could never get a bead on the right-handed Piñeiro, who threw 9 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors. The Targaryens now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 series.

Piñeiro was in the zone all game. He frustrated Plymouth hitters while giving the Targaryens 9 innings of quality work. Piñeiro threw 106 pitches, allowing 6 hits and getting 6 punchouts.

"I thought we played a nice game," Piñeiro told the Royse City Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

The next game is scheduled for Monday, September 25th, 2034. Slated to start are Will Kirby for the Plymouth Rocks and Fred Proctor for the the Royse City Targaryens.
