Lang, Humpbacks Wallop Timber Hawks in Game 3 of R1
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Augusta Timber Hawks at Sea World by a score of 4-2. Humpbacks center fielder Sigi Lang was named player of the game after he was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Humpbacks a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 3L AAA Championship.
Erik Sterk drove in one run against the Timber Hawks. In the bottom of the first inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run, putting Alaskan in front, 1-0.
After the game, Alaskan manager John Carney applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Sea World. Slated to start are Emil Olsson for the Augusta Timber Hawks and Laurel Yanny for the the Alaskan Humpbacks.
