Gibtown Breaks Through for First Win in 3L R Championship; Now Trails 2-1
The Gibtown Elephants have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Amarillo Submarinos, winning 6-1 at Terriers Ballpark today. Elephants left-hander David Fuentes was named player of the game after he threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Elephants to 2-1 in the best-of-5 3L R Championship.

Amarillo could barely put a dent in Fuentes. The left-hander tossed 111 pitches over 9 innings for the Elephants, allowing only 4 hits.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Fuentes said.

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Taro Kishita for Gibtown and Harry Golden for Amarillo.
