Clippers Beat Visiting Shockers, 8-4
|
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Pedro Serano, the San Diego Clippers defeated the Surprise Shockers, 8-4. Serano went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Clippers. Kane Duckering was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 4 save opportunities. The Clippers bumped their record to 57-40 with this latest triumph.
The Clippers beat the Shockers with some clutch hitting. The single by Zhen-bang Kwan in the bottom of the fifth is a good example. With two down, Kwan gave his team the lead, 5-4, when he came through with the big hit.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Kwan.
