When he got to Syracuse, Kohei Nishikawa was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the SL A Championship.

The 21-year-old rookie left-hander shut out the host York Revolution 1-0 in a remarkable performance at York Park today. With the win, the Storm took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-5 SL A Championship.

In his 106-pitch effort, Nishikawa allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 9 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 7.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Nishikawa. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at York Park in York. The scheduled starters for the game are Donnie Rawling for Syracuse and Jordan Guérin for York.
