O'Keefe Handcuffs Storm, Revolution Seize 1-0 Advantage in R1
|
One game in and the SL A Championship is already looking exhausting.
The York Revolution and the Syracuse Storm needed 10 innings to settle Game 1, with the Revolution finally taking the 3-2 victory at Storm Park. Earning player of the game honors in the win was York starting pitcher Steve O'Keefe, who threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. The Revolution and Storm will play a best-of-5 series.
The Revolution beat the Storm with some clutch hitting. The single by Augusto Trejo in the top of the tenth is a good example. With two down, Trejo gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he came through with the big hit.
"I believe in our guys," said York skipper Glenn Draper. "I like the energy they're playing with."
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow in Syracuse. Slated to start are Ernesto Serrado for the York Revolution and Carlos Simon for the the Syracuse Storm.
