Host Rainbow Mermaids Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -

The Echo Park Lakers moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids on the road at Atlantica by a score of 3-2. Lakers right-hander Willie Dustice was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Lakers a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
Toby Sutton, who is rated as the 67th best prospect by BNN, aided the Echo Park cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 4.
After the game, Echo Park manager Jordan Calhoun applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
