The Northern Virginia starter rose to the occasion at Quebec City Coliseum today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Rainbow Mermaids to a crucial 5-3 victory over the Quebec City Les Bleus. García threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball as the Rainbow Mermaids won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Round 1.
García was in the zone all game. He frustrated Quebec City hitters while giving the Rainbow Mermaids 7 innings of quality work. García threw 101 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 5 punchouts.
García told a Northern Virginia Citizen reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
