The Gibtown Elephants got a superb performance from pitcher Said Akimi. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Ballard. The Beavers won the game, 4-2. In spite of the loss, Akimi was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. The win was Kian-zhi Zhou's in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Said Akimi took the loss for Gibtown. Jan Koistinen closed it out for his 4th save.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 2nd and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when shortstop Dylan Precious hit a triple. The Beavers went on to win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Precious told a Ballard Daily reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
Ballard's record now stands at 32-46, placing them 10th in the Menard's R.
