Baby Lakers Fall to Beavers, 4-1
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Jim Herries helped his team muscle past the Bompton Baby Lakers, 4-1. In the game, the Ballard catcher went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Ballard reliever José Sánchez, now 6-7. The loser was Andrej Dis. Jan Koistinen was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Early in the game, first baseman José Hernández had a 2-run double for Ballard. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Beavers on top, 2-0.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Beavers manager Terry Stokes. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
Ballard now sits at 28-44, while Bompton falls to 45-27.
