Pizza Rats Lose Again, 6-2, to Mermen
|
Spirited fans at Ballpark of Califon greeted the Staten Island Pizza Rats for their clash with the Newcastle Mermen.
Newcastle starter Tetsuzan Miyata pitched effectively against the Staten Island Pizza Rats at Ballpark of Califon. The right-hander led his team to a 6-2 win. Staten Island has now lost 7 in a row.
Katsuyuki Nakamura, who is tied for 8th in the SR in doubles with 23, helped out the Newcastle cause in the top of the ninth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the second baseman went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Miyata.
