Ogallala played host to Valley View at the friendly confines of Nebraska Aquarium.

The Ogallala Octopi got a good effort from starter Venceslau Martelo in defeating the Valley View Cougars at Nebraska Aquarium. The final score was 8-2. The Octopi have now won 4 straight.

Paramaribo, Suriname-born Phil van Oosterom came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd and the Octopi trailing 1-0, he hit a 3-run home run to left to put Ogallala on top.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Martelo told the Ogallala Gazette.
