Clippers Jolt Cougars with Late Rally
|
The San Diego Clippers and Valley View Cougars played a tight game at Mean Green Ballpark, with the hosts claiming the hard-fought win.
The San Diego Clippers faced a tough opponent in Valley View pitcher Malcolm Bullard, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Mean Green Ballpark by a final score of 3-1. Bullard went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Kane Duckering picked up the save, his 2nd.
Zhen-bang Kwan found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Valley View hurler Malcolm Bullard, the 21-year-old second baseman reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 2 runs. His 28th RBI of the season put the Clippers on top, 3-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Kwan told the San Diego Today.
San Diego is now 54-39, Valley View 44-49.
