Qi Rips Surprise for 5 Hits
|
Sze Qi put on a hitting clinic today as the San Diego Clippers dumped the Surprise Shockers 7-2 at ïAbbots Ballpark.
The San Diego shortstop made Surprise defenders earn their pay, lashing Surprise pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Qi said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Sze Qi singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year Qi has collected a .318 batting average to date with 113 hits in 355 at-bats, 32 RBIs, 3 home runs and scored 60 times. He has played in 89 games.
