|
Surprise pitcher Alan Halsall did his part in helping his team beat the San Diego Clippers, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 7.2 innings, Halsall surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. José Castro picked up the save for Surprise, his 19th of the year.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Lao Tian went deep for the Shockers. With Surprise leading 2-1, he drilled a 2-run home run.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Halsall.
Surprise currently is in second place in the Premier R at 53-35.
