|
The Ogallala Octopi had to overcome a big game from San Diego third baseman Cleveland Mortimer to leave Nebraska Aquarium with a 10-6 victory. Mortimer went 4-4 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The first-place Octopi have won 4 in a row.
Also making an impact was catcher Kao-tsu Koo, who drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning for the Octopi. For the game, Koo was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"First place," said Octopi manager Bernie Drake. "This is right where we want to be."
