Late Rally by Snowpeople Secures Win

Both teams had their chances, but the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople eventually prevailed at Corpus Christi Grounds.
The Fort Knox Centennial got a superb performance from pitcher Alberto López, but the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople still won the game, 4-3. López was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. The win was credited to Albert Johnston in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Bing-zhong Qiu took the loss.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Ellesmere Island trailing 3-1, Tristan Eikelenboom hit a slider from Bing-zhong Qiu to right for a bases-clearing double. Just like that, the Snowpeople had a walk-off win.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Eikelenboom told the Ellesmere Island Bulletin.
At 34-46, Ellesmere Island is in 9th place in the Premier R.
