Late Rally by Sun Sox Secures Win
The Winter Haven Sun Sox relied on the hitting of third baseman Raheem Sterling to stop the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 6-3. For the game, Sterling went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Winter Haven reliever Bligh Madris picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Albert Johnston shouldered the loss. Phil Burns finished the game for Winter Haven and earned his 9th save.

Sterling had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Kosami Matsumoto, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Sun Sox a 4-3 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Sterling.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Sterling.

The Sun Sox, at 38-40, sit in 6th place in the Premier R.
