Dominant Performance by Pérez in Winter Haven Win
|
The Winter Haven Sun Sox went home winners at Roadrunners Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Ismael Pérez. Pérez silenced the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, enabling Winter Haven to grab the 4-1 win. Winter Haven occupies 6th place in the Premier R at 37-39.
Pérez was in the zone all game. He frustrated Ellesmere Island hitters while giving the Sun Sox 8 innings of quality work. Pérez threw 109 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 7 punchouts.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Sun Sox manager Barrett Abbott, "I like our chances."
