The Valley View Cougars got a strong performance from pitcher Ian Dobson, who stymied the Ogallala offense en route to a 4-2 win at Hillandale Grounds. Michinori Nakamura earned the save, his 3rd. Valley View now owns a record of 34-41.
Tim Gonzáles had a big run-scoring double for the Cougars in the bottom of the third inning. With Valley View leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Fred Ramey and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cougars ahead, 2-0.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Gonzáles.
