Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Cougars
The Valley View Cougars trumped the Ogallala Octopi, 8-7, at Hillandale Grounds. Valley View right fielder Gene Payne was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Valley View goes to 33-41, while the Octopi fall to 46-28.

The Cougars got a big at-bat from center fielder Gaetan Fornasari. For the game, Fornasari went 3 for 8 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the 13th, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 12th hit of the season gave Valley View a 8-7 lead.

"It was terrific getting this win," Payne said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
