Sun Sox Come Up Short at San Diego
|
In a low-scoring affair between the San Diego Clippers and the Winter Haven Sun Sox, pitcher Man-su Chong was the difference between victory and defeat. The San Diego right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 Clippers win. San Diego reliever Meynard Hipolito picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-2. Stanton Ryan was collared with the loss. The Clippers' win now puts them at 41-30.
Chong had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the fifth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Clippers went on to win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Chong.
