Gibtown right-hander Said Akimi pitched his team to victory over the Ballard Beavers at Wrigley Field. The final score was 5-3. The save went to Vadim Rajnev, his 2nd this season. Gibtown is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Don Parker had a big 2-run double for the Elephants in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Gibtown trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from António Castro and stroked the double to center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Elephants ahead, 3-2.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Akimi told the Gibtown Gazette.
