Flanderses Best Submarinos in Pitching Duel
|
Hudsonville Flanderses starter Ken Bates turned in a sterling performance against the Amarillo Submarinos, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Bates, now 2-2. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Earning his 1st save of the year was Annamaya Rakhi.
Tora Tora took Ramón Tassis deep in the top of the first. His 2-run home run put the Flanderses on top, 2-0. In all, Tora had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Bates. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
