Baby Lakers Fall Short, 5-4, at Santa Fe
|
The Santa Fe Revolvers picked up a win at Ballpark of Day Valley, knocking off the Bompton Baby Lakers, 5-4. Starting pitcher Frasier Crane was an essential part of his team's success. Crane, now 2-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. José Castillo locked down his 2nd save.
Javier Silva drove in one run for Santa Fe. The 20-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Tae-ho Ch'oe. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Crane told the Santa Fe Chronicle.
The Revolvers, now 13-12, have won 4 in a row.
