Extra-Inning Win by Deer over Elephants
|
The Sheridan Deer turned back the Gibtown Elephants, 6-5, at Wranglers Ballpark. Jason Watts was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 2 for 6 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the victory, the Deer record now stands at 13-12.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Sheridan right fielder Michael Nelson, facing Paco Garza, had a run-scoring triple. It gave the Deer the 6-5 win.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Sheridan manager Tommy Wade.
