3-2 Win by Baby Lakers Continues Hot Start

The Bompton Baby Lakers did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Greenport Harbor Whales at Field of the Browns. Nobody did more than pitcher Chet Gibbs, who captured player of the game honors. Jesús Alonso earned his 7th save in 9 tries. Bompton, now 13-4, is setting the league on fire so far.
Juan Velasco's at-bat in the bottom of the third was significant for the Baby Lakers. Coming to the plate with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Bompton leading 2-0, the first baseman reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Velasco told the Bompton News.
