Beavers Shut Out Elephants
|
Right-hander Aurelio Ortíz mesmerized the Gibtown Elephants while leading the Ballard Beavers to a 3-0 victory. Barney Padgett recorded his 1st save for Ballard. The Beavers, with only their 3rd win in 15 games, have not had much to write home about in 2034.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Evegnii Wolfson. For the game, Wolfson went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Ballard a 1-0 lead.
Afterward, Beavers manager Terry Stokes was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
