Harbor Whales Nip Magic, 5-4
|
The Greenport Harbor Whales eked out a 5-4 win versus the Orlando Magic at Ballpark of Robbins. Nobody did more than shortstop Jung-keun Kim, who captured player of the game honors. Getting the save was Weon Kim, his 4th. Greenport is now 6-8.
Pung-cho Chang had a big run-scoring single for the Harbor Whales in the bottom of the third inning. With Greenport trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Octávio Córdova and stroked the single to left. It was his 7th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Harbor Whales ahead, 2-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Kim. "And not try to do too much."
