Submarinos Subdue Gibtown, 3-1
|
Amarillo beat Gibtown on the strength of starter Stephen Palmer's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Amarillo reliever Harta Wibawa Chandra picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Said Akimi was saddled with the loss. The Submarinos raised their record to 8-4.
The Submarinos got a big at-bat from third baseman Roger Snodgrass. For the game, Snodgrass was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 13th hit of the season gave Amarillo a 2-1 lead.
Palmer told a Amarillo Citizen reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
